"The Sniper and Crane Theme Comparison Essay."

Both stories are alike because the two characters are at war. The stories “Cranes” and “The Sniper” both are similar to each other. Then the main characters changed there ways by not killing people. They are both alike by having to kill people that are precious to them. In both stories find out war is very tragic because you can kill people that are close without knowing.

Normally, soldiers fight against strangers. But In both stories these main character fought against one of their family members or one of their friends. ”Cranes” and “The Sniper” are alike because in both interactions the main characters are forced to fight or kill there family members and also friends. The story’s are also alike because in each story the government is after one of the characters. Tokchae in the story “Cranes”, he killed people. Then in the story “The Sniper” the narrator killed many people including his own blood brother.

The main characters in the story Sniper are the narrator and his brother, the spy, and the men driving the armored car. The conflict in the story was the narrator getting shot at. Then the conflict was resolved by the narrator finding a way how to kill his enemy. The narrator changed as soon as he seen the face of his beloved brother dead. The theme of the story is when people are in war, they are taught to kill each other without hesitation.

The main characters in the Crane are Songsam and also Tokchae, which used to be his child hood playmate. The conflict in the story was when Songsam was forced to shoot his friend. The conflict was resolved when Songsam let Tokchae go like when they both let a Crane go, when they were younger. Songsam changed when he let Tokchae go so he can change his loyalty. Theme is that people’s friendship can overcome war.

The topic of both story’s are about war. In the story “The Sniper” the narrator is forced to kill his own brother without knowing. In the story the Crane the main character Songsam was forced to kill his old child hood friend, but looked back to the times that they had and let his friend go instead of killing him. The main idea of the Sniper is that the narrator changed his ways after looking into the face of his dead brother, and the main idea of the Crane songsam let his friend Tokchae go so he can change his ways, and his loyalty. One final idea of both story’s is that in the end of both story’s both characters changed their ways.

Cranes Graphic Organizer

Cranes Songsam's Defense Speech

I support my decision let Tokchae escape because I wouldn't wan't one of my childhood friend to suffer and go to prison or any place else. Tokchae would of done the same for me, it also depends what hes captured for. If Tokchae did something horrible I wouldn't wan't to be help accountable for what he did. I then would of talked to him to tell him I was sorry but he would have to do his time he deserved. Letting Tokchae go is a memory of letting the cranes go, I couldn't hold the crane back then and won't hold Tokchae back now..

Cranes Duty Paragraph

If I had to choose between studying for my big history exam and to AWOL with a friend, I would choose to study for the exam. My school work and education is way more important then going off to AWOL. Friends now won't be there five to ten years from now, being successful is my mind set so I can go acheive my goals. That friend won't even remember my name after those years that pass by, why waste time when you can shoot for the stars to be something while the friend AWOL's from place to place. It is important to get ready for the exams, not to AWOL with some friend you won't know after time passes by.

SPAC Theme Song

I'm at war by Sean Kingston. San Pasqual Academy is filled with insulting hypocritical people, who like to fight over little things, making this place a drama filled campus. There is people at "war" for things that may not even matter in the future when we leave this place. I can see the things that go around that we can prevent but so far nothing can be prevented. Everybody has to stop this war that is going on and unite as a family and join forces. We can do anything we set are mines to, this war that is going on has to stop or it will be a never ending war here at SPA.

The Sniper Before Narrative

The bright soldier was battling for his country, he was very determined to do what he could do for whats right. His ideal was to kill others, while he was in the mixed of everything he seen some people die in front of him. There was a soldier that had got his head blown off that had fallen onto the tank. The turret was a weapon that was used to help him out. He set a decoy that helped him survive, and was a very smart thing to do. He was wounded from a shot that pierced him by the arm, but that didn't stop him from sniping other people.

Internal and External Conflicts In The Sniper

The internal conflict in the story was when there was a soldier, he didn't mind killing anybody that came in his way. He was shot, the thing is that the soldier didn't even think about how it could effect others family's when he killed other enemy's. This man did not even realize what he was doing till the external came up into the story. His brother was in combat as well, after the soldier seen someone get his head blown off he was then aware of everything that was going on. Except the fact that when he turned around quickly as the rifle was pointed at his brother and shot. The next time he goes in combat he now has to think of his brother that he killed every time he kills someone else.

The Sniper Fear

When facing heart-pounding fear, people perform well, because there so nervous there going to end up doing well on what there trying to performing on. For example if you were going to sing, the audience would be looking right at you and all that pressure is on you. After a moment or two your going to start feeling the heat, everything is going to be on your mind. Thinking about your every move that your going to do seems nerve racking but once its done its a sigh of relief. These people make it harder than what it really is, you have to feel confident so you don't get that heart-pounding fear. Before you perform keep practicing and build up confidence so that it can be done and over with.
