Dia de los Muertos - Pick a Person

I plan to construct a Dia de los Muertos altar about Amy Winehouse. Her main character trait is talented, this person is known well for being able to sing. This persons apperance is kind of odd. She usually has long finger nails and has her hair in her own little style. Also she has a lot of makeup on that makes her stand out. Others think she is crazy for her reputation that she has had in the past. This person thought she was good at the things that was accomplished in her past, until alcahol abuse became a problem. A few items that I may include in my altar to represent this person are that Amy Winehouse is different and gifted. I selected this person because I seen a page about her on yahoo the same day we had to pick someone who was dead.

“Two Kinds” Character Analysis Paragraph

Two Kinds is the name of the book. Jing-Mei's character trait would be that she is very bossy. When her mother was pushing her to be a prodigy she felt like she was okay with it and out of know where she kind of flips out. Her actions were vivid and when she mest up playing the piano she gives up. Jing-Mei was chineese, had different hair then her mother and dressed like a school girl. The things she said were quite hateful in a way, Jing-Mei told her mom how she felt which led to a huge argument. Jing-Mei is like real people by expressing her feelings that normal people would have on occasions.

"Two Kinds" Mother-Daughter Conflict

Jing-mei had several conflicts with her mother in the story "Two Kinds." The main conflict was that her mother was striving for her daughter to be a prodigy on the piano. This conflict shows that Jing-mei really didn't have a say in what she wanted to do. Suddenly after the T.V. incident Jing-mei told her mom that she wasn't as smart as she thinks she is. Lastly, her mother showed sympathy and did want better for her after seeing her struggle in school.

I would feel mad if someone tried to make me a prodigy piano player. My reaction would be to refuse that and wouldn't let any one do that unless money was offered. I probably would talk my way out of doing it or ask the person whos pushing me into doing this if theres any way I can do something different. The pressure would make me do bad because I would always be thinking to do good. If anything I would take the punishment if my mom or dad tried to push me into playing the piano. Thats one thing a lot of people would not like to do anyway.

"Two Kinds" Before You Read: Something You Don't Want to Do

I was at a lake a time ago and I climbed a really big tree that had a little board you could stand on when you get up top. I really wanted to do it at first but once I got up I did not want to jump down after that. I felt frightened because I didn't think it was going to be that high and I'm also kind of scared of hights so it made everything even worse. After all the thinking I went through I had to jump no matter what because there was no climbing back down because I would run the risk of falling all that way down. This was resolved by jumping down, then keeping my eyes closed till right before I hit the water. As soon as I got up and out of the water I knew I wasnt going to do that again but sure enough I climbed right back up and did it again.

"Everyday Use" Before You Read: Tradition

Fifteen years from now, I will be a sports broadcaster involving some type of T.V. show that they will have fifteen years from now. This tradition involves never giving up and always putting in hard work everyday. One of my happy memories of this tradition is celebrating the best days I had with my co workers. I will share this with children by showing them videos that I broadcasted over the years. By sharing this tradition with future generations, I hope it will inspire them to do the same thing I did for many years.

''The Necklace'' - The Husbands Point Of View

My wife never wanted to look poor any where she went, it made me wonder why she was asking me to buy things for her. I understood there was a ball coming up and she wanted to look nice but she didn't have to have the most expensive thing there. The flowers would of looked fabulous on her, but my wife wanted something that would cost me way more money than I hoped for. Before the ball she got her dress which made her happy but did not satisfy her to the fullest. That necklace she wanted from her friend looked really nice and dandy. She borrowed it then lost the precious item. We went to get a new one which cost a lot of Franks, anything that made my wife happy made me more and more miserable.

The Necklace The Grass Is Not Always Greener

There was a time I thought the grass was green, I always liked collecting baseball cards. Every time I went to go purchase baseball cards I would always steal them. I had almost stolen ten to twenty boxes all together. My collection just started building up each and every time I went to a store to get some cards. I was so confident that I would never get caught stealing these cards, there was just this one day I went to get one more box. Suddenly there was a young lady who seen me put it in my bag, she approached me and told me I either had to pay for the box or she had to call the police so that we could settle it the "hard way."

I always thought the grass was just getting more and more green but till that day the color changed.

Marigolds Summary Poem

  Miss Lottie is a tall old dark women as the difference with Lizabeth she is very dirty. The introduction is very short and sweet, you can see the dirt in Lizabeth's feet. Her behavior was not something to compete with. Running a long with young ones that are bored enough to destroy the marigolds that were so close to Miss Lottie. With hopelessness, deep enragement in the young ones and Lizabeth. With Miss Lottie being so ashamed now she has someone to blame. The marigolds had been crumpled, Miss Lottie was there not wanting to re construct the fabulous flowers. She sits and waits while Lizabeth's parents are fighting wherever for hours. Weeping lady, John Burke in his chair rocking, he was then disturbed by disturbing children. Sounds of those rocks made John yell and every child could tell.

Ridiculous-Roger tried to snatch Mrs. Luella Bate's pocket book. Which was ridiculously wrong for him to do. He only needed ten dollars for some blue sueded shoes.
Outrageous-Roger tried to make a run for it after Mrs. Jones dragged him to her house. Instead of trying to steal the money all he needed to do was just probably ask, she would of been nice enough to give him money.

All of a suddent there was a rumble, which was a earthquake. It all came down to the end, was he going to stay with Laika or go to the moon.
